The steady line that often forms is a quiet testament to the kind of authenticity that keeps people coming back, drawn by memories of home-cooked goodness and genuine smiles from the staff.
On the plate, Becky's & Mary’s offers soulful comfort without fuss—fried chicken that’s crisped just right, tender meatloaf, and sides that speak volumes through their simplicity: richly seasoned greens, creamy mac and cheese, and sweet yams that bring a hint of sweetness to every bite. Stopped in this morning to try out breakfast. Delicious ! I had the pancakes with eggs and bacon. The staff is true southerners. I love this restaurant. It's like eating at your Granny's table. I'll definitely be back!

The ONLY thing that our party of four are that want off the charts was the cornbread. It wasn't bad, just dry. Other than that? Ribs were delicious and you could cut them with a fork. Meatloaf was great. Fried chicken was spot on. Green beans were seasoned perfectly. Mac and cheese was great. Yams were awesome. Service with a smile. There are a lot of reasons this place has been around for over fifty years and still going strong!

First time dining here, a no frills local favorite restaurant. I would love to see different seating. All of their chairs are attached to the table, gave a 1970’s fast food restaurant dine-in vibe. There was a constant line of customers. They ONLY TAKE CASH! Limited parking in the lot. Food already prepped, cafeteria style. I think they could turn up the heat a lil more on their steam table. We loved the meatloaf, potato salad and greens. The sweet potatoes were good, with traditional seasoning. I liked the fried chicken. My cousin wanted more seasoning on it. The sweet tea good! We did not try any of the desserts. The macaroni and cheese was nothing special. Typical NC stovetop cheese sauce style. The corn bread was basic and had inconsistent browning. What also impressed us, three meals including drinks for only $40.

I swung by this spot last weekend and gotta say, the vibes were pretty chill. The fried chicken was crispy and well-seasoned, though not mind-blowing. I tried the mac and cheese too, and it was creamy and comforting—definitely hit the spot. Service was friendly, even if a bit slow during peak hours, but they seemed genuinely nice. The sides were solid, especially the collard greens. Prices were reasonable for the portion sizes. Overall, it’s a nice little place if you’re craving some classic soul food without anything too fancy. I’d probably come back again when I’m in the neighborhood.

Becky’s & Mary’s Restaurant, located in High Point, offers a delightful selection of dishes. Their fried chicken is exceptional, complemented by flavorful cornbread and a delightful sweet yam. Occasionally, they feature turkey neck and gizzard, which are equally enjoyable for those with a taste for such fare. However, it’s important to note that their cuisine leans toward richness, with generous use of butter and sugar. Opinions on this establishment tend to be divisive: some patrons adore the food, while others find it less appealing. I recommend experiencing it firsthand to form your own judgment. Please be aware that this establishment operates on a cash-only basis and is situated in a neighborhood. While some may perceive the area as questionable, I personally have not encountered any issues during lunchtime visits.

Great food. Banana pudding is by far, the best around.
